StayLit Lighting — Limited Warranty

Effective Date: June 17, 2025

StayLit Lighting installs permanent architectural LED lighting systems built to last. This warranty covers the system installed at your property and explains exactly what is protected, for how long, and how to get support when you need it.

Lifetime Warranty: LED Light Modules

StayLit Lighting provides a lifetime limited warranty on all individual LED light modules, including puck lights and node lights, installed as part of your system.

Covered under this warranty

  • Manufacturing defects
  • Premature LED failure under normal residential or commercial use

What counts as a defective light module

A light module is considered defective when it stops working, gets stuck on a colour that cannot be changed through the app, or causes the lights connected after it to stop functioning.

What "lifetime" means

Our LED modules are independently tested and rated for approximately 65,000 hours of use, which equals roughly 25 years at 7 hours of daily use. The lifetime warranty reflects this rated lifespan. Coverage is not affected by actual usage hours and does not reset or extend when a module is repaired or replaced.

10-Year Warranty: Parts and System Components

All other components supplied and installed by StayLit Lighting are covered by a 10-year limited warranty from the original installation date.

Covered components include

  • Aluminum tracks and mounting hardware
  • Controllers, hubs, and power supplies
  • Wiring, cables, and connectors
  • App-connected hardware and control modules

If any covered component fails due to a manufacturing defect within 10 years, StayLit Lighting will repair or replace it at our discretion, at no parts cost to you. This warranty applies to both residential and commercial installations.

App Connectivity

Your lighting system is controlled through the StayLit app. If the system loses its connection to your WiFi network, this is not a defect and is not a warranty issue. In most cases, disconnecting power to the system by unplugging the power cord or flipping the exterior switch off and on, then following the in-app setup instructions, will fully restore connectivity. Our support team is available to walk you through this at no charge.

StayLit Lighting will maintain the app and firmware required to operate your system for a minimum of 5 years from your installation date. In the event of a significant platform change, we will provide advance notice and a clear path forward.

No Maintenance Required

Your StayLit system does not require routine maintenance or scheduled inspections to maintain warranty coverage. The system is designed to operate year-round, including in extreme cold weather conditions common to Alberta and surrounding regions.

What Is Covered

  • Defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions
  • LED modules that stop working, lock to an incorrect color, or cause downstream failure in the same run
  • System components that fail due to manufacturing defects within their covered period
  • Replacement parts for all valid claims at no cost during the applicable warranty period

What Is Not Covered

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, accidents, or negligence
  • Acts of nature, including severe weather, lightning, flooding, hail, or animal interference
  • Physical damage from impact or improper use
  • Systems that have been modified, relocated, or serviced by anyone other than an authorized StayLit Lighting installer
  • Damage caused by power surges, improper electrical supply, or third-party equipment
  • Normal cosmetic changes, minor colour shift, or surface discoloration over time
  • App connectivity issues resolvable by resetting the system power
  • Removal or reinstallation costs related to renovations, re-siding, or roofing
  • Shipping costs, unless pre-approved in writing by StayLit Lighting

Service and Labor

Year 1: All warranty-related service calls, including labor and travel, are covered at no charge during the first year from your installation date.

Year 2 and beyond: Replacement parts remain covered at no cost for the full duration of their applicable warranty period. After the first year, a service trip fee applies to on-site warranty visits to cover the technician's time and travel. This fee will always be communicated to you before a visit is scheduled.

Submitting a Warranty Claim

To submit a claim, the homeowner must complete the following steps:

  • Contact StayLit Lighting by email or text using the contact info at the bottom.
  • Include proof of original installation, such as your invoice or contract
  • Provide a clear description of the issue and the affected components
  • Attach photos or a short video clearly showing the problem
  • Allow reasonable property access for inspection and repair if required

StayLit Lighting will respond to all submitted claims within 2 business days to confirm receipt and outline next steps. Service visits are typically scheduled within 14 calendar days, subject to seasonal demand.

All claims are subject to inspection and verification. StayLit Lighting reserves the right to assess the system and determine whether the issue falls within the scope of this warranty. Replacement parts for approved claims are provided at no charge.

Warranty coverage begins on the original installation date.

Warranty Transfer

This warranty may be transferred once to a new homeowner within the 10-year parts warranty period.

To initiate a transfer, the following conditions must be met

  • The new homeowner must contact StayLit Lighting within 30 days of the property purchase date
  • A system inspection must be completed at or around the time of transfer
  • The inspection is conducted to identify any existing defects or issues so that legitimate problems can be resolved under the original warranty before the new owner assumes coverage. This ensures the new homeowner starts with a fully functioning, verified system.
  • The new owner receives the remaining coverage from the original installation date. Warranty terms do not reset upon transfer.
